Cee: “The plastic and trash problem around the world, is a very real, scary and unstable situation. We cannot ignore it nor can we pretend it is someone else’s responsibility. This doesn’t only mean to responsibly recycle materials we do use personally and professionally, it means NOT BUYING them in the first place!
The high demand for single use plastics that we ourselves as a society create, has got to stop. If we’re creating the need for plastic, there will never be cause for companies and individuals to stop using this cheap, destructive material. Forever contaminating our oceans, rivers, wildlife, marine animals, city streets, schools, neighbourhoods, forests and more”.
Holger: “Plastic is an ambivalent matter and topic. It produces many layers of sound, shapes and visual forms. The art of constructing something out of plastic and what we call trash, is one way of creating something new, useful and resourceful, from all the material currently on our planet. Leading to less waste in the landfills and changing the narrative of throwing things away.
Something destructive like plastic trash, can be a starting point for something unifying and optimistic. We built and rolled this ball to show the many dimensions of the global plastic problem. There are many angles to it. We choose to be active and be aware”.
Did you know that the plastic contamination, is so bad in 2023 that we’re inhaling close to 7000+ microplastic particles a day in our own homes?
Or that there are micro plastics in the rain? Which means in our food, soil and bodies as well?
Research shows that micro plastics are even found in the worlds most remote places, due to the life cycle and distance that these micro plastics travel.“We’re poisoning ourselves”.
Let’s talk about it, let’s keep the conversation rolling.
